I read on the internet about "blood diamonds" and how they use slavery to get diamonds for rings. If my gf finds out that I only got her a cz maybe I could just play the blame game on her and tell her that she wouldn't want to support slavery. She's all into social justice. GOD, I know she is cheating on me but I don't want to loose the mother of my child, Darryl.

ummm....lose her!! If she cheating on you, lose her. You deserve better. This shouldn't come into play with your child. You will always be the child's father so you should take the necessary steps to protect your rights as said father.
As for the diamond or lack of....wrong idea about blaming her. A ring given to a woman with the promise of marriage should be special, not about the ring.

That's just sad. First of all- if you can't afford to buy your woman a real diamond, tell her. Don't try and trick her. If she was a decent person she would understand and wouldn't expect anything. Throwing that little line in about her cheating though makes me wonder why you even proposed in the first place- obviously she's a b*i*t*c*h
