Default Is this a good diamond? I am looking at engagement rings and this one is...

...in my price range.? I am looking at spending around $6500 with the setting (The setting alone is $3050). Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

That seems like a decent price for the stone itself, although the real arbiter is how it looks.

In general, I would personally recommend a smaller but nicer diamond - at H/SI2 you are pretty much at the bottom of the range of jewelry-quality diamonds. By comparison you could get a stone in the 0.8-1.00 carat range D/VS2 or better for the same price range.

Remember that your future bride is going to be showing this to her friends - side by side comparisons will be made, and the H color especially will show.

that seems like a lot of money for a SI2 diamond, but then again, if it comes with love, then that makes it worth the world.

Why should it matter what the cost of the ring is? Is she going to get you a ring worth the same money? In this economy, that money could be better spent on your relationship rather than giving her a rock on her finger to show off to her friends; let alone the marriage might not work out and you are out $3800 dollars.
