Default Whats up with all the TV commercials saying to mail them your gold jewelry for money?

This all started around a year ago. Did some now law get passed to make robbing houses easier for crooks or what?.......I'm in CA in case you don't see these commercials were your at.
Normally you have to show your I.D. and give a finger print to do this. Now you just mail it in.......I don't care to do this I was just wondering why the law change

I saw that on the news recently. Mail them your gold and they write you a check, unfortunately the check is much less than you might think. With all of our unemployed, it's not a surprise many of us feel the need to do this for cash. It's a rip-off.

PT Barnum was right. There is a sucker born every minute.
Anyone who does this and loses their valuables deserves it.

They are all over the TV and Internet
Basically since gold is up today it is at $30.18 an gram( approx) -
they want to cash in by telling you (the audience) that
some of your financial worries will go away by sending them
your broken or unwanted gold , platinum or silver.

It is wiser to just go down to your local jeweler, get it
appraised and see what he/she will give you.

Many companies run a scam until caught or the heat gets to
bad and then they move on. All they got to do is keep moving
and hope no one gets the wiser . At this time the feds seem to
be busy elsewhere so it is free reign to these guys.

I received an email about these commercials. Yes they send you money for your gold but they send you what they think you should receive not what the gold is worth.
SCAM SCAM SCAM

Those are a scam. They'll actually send you money, but they will grossly underpay the amount the gold is worth. Don't do it.
