Default My fiance is confused on how the wedding ring thing works.?

He is not sure if he is suppose to give me an engagement ring then give it to me again fora wedding ring. I told him 1: it depends on us 2: i want my engagement ring and wedding ring. And he also is not sure if he gets an engagement ring.

Men don't usually get engagement rings. But this is YOUR relationship, so do what you want to do...it's up to the two of you.

An engagement ring is optional. If you want both then he would give you an engagement ring to show the commitment to each other. Then on the day of the wedding, he put the wedding band on your left ring finger. AND, you put his wedding band on his left ring finger.

Be sure to wear your wedding ring nearest to your heart. The engagement ring is the outer ring.

traditionally he gives you the engadgement ring (the one with the "diamond") when he proposes and then you each get wedding bands at the wedding.

He can have a engagement ring, but it's still very untraditional.
Step 1:He proposes with an engagement ring.
Step 2. You both look for a wedding band.
Step 3. Ring bearer goes down the aisle, or best man carries it.
Step 4. You wear both, and sometimes get them welded together if they are a set

Engagement ring when engaged.
Wedding band at wedding.

he is suppose to get you the engagement ring you when your first get engaged then you get a wedding band to go with the engagement ring. so technically it will be two rings in one. usually the engagement ring is a solitair diamond (single diamond) then the wedding band is little diamonds that fancy up the solitare. the wedding band is given to the bride at the wedding ceremony. then after the wedding you get the two rings sautered together so its just one big ring

when he proposes he gives you an engagement ring, then on the wedding day he gives you a wedding ring and he gets a wedding ring on the day of the wedding as well. You can sometimes buy the wedding band and the engagement ring together as a set.

you give the engagement ring to the girl. Then you buy a band to match it if you didn't with the solitare ring as a set. Then on the wedding day you give the band to her and she has the solitare on a different finger at the time. He slips on the band then you put the engagement ring back on infront of the band. The band is a union object to symbolize marriage and is put closest to your heart, therefore, goes first on your left ring finger, then the engagement ring goes on after that. He doesn't have an engagement ring. He can have a promise ring. He just gets a wedding band on the day of the wedding. hope that helps.

traditionally you should get an engagement ring and a wedding ring. my fiance propose without a ring which is common now and i later picked it out.
if i had to do it again i would choose a wedding ring only and wait for the big day to receive my first and only ring.

Well if you want an engagement ring and a wedding ring, then that's what you like.
He doesn't need an engagement ring, just a wedding ring at your ceremony.
At the ceremony, you exchange wedding rings, and you wear your engagement ring on your other hand. Then for the photos, you pop the engagement ring onto your left hand to go with your new ring. The wedding ring goes first and then the engagement ring.

Usually upon engagement, the man presents the woman with an engagement ring. They buy wedding bands for each other to be presented on the wedding day as an outward sign of their inner commitment, and the woman wears the wedding band first (on the bottom) and the engagement ring second (on top). The tradition behind that dates back to the ancient Egyptians who believed a vein traveled from that finger directly to the heart, hence the old saying, "Wear thy wedded ring closest to thy heart."
