Instead of a wedding band, I just chose a really unique engagement ring that was presented during the ceremony and I kind of regret it. I love my ring but sometimes people assume I'm engaged and haven't been married yet. It's annoying and now I can't get a band without getting it custom made because of my unique engagement ring. So...if you are even considering wanting a band, then I'd get a cheap one now and then you can upgrade it for one of your anniversaries later.

But I would suggest checking ebay, believe it or not you can get really pretty unused rings. I got my fiances wedding band there and it only cost a 100 dollars, and it's really nice, and has diamonds and everything. And at the ceremony you give her the wedding band.

In previous generations it was more common for the engagement ring to be purchased after the proposal. While it's not as "romantic," the bride has some input. Also, in previous generations it was much less common for men to wear wedding rings.

The wedding bands and engagement rings you choose will be one of the most enduring pieces of your wedding day. Not only are they an important element of becoming married, but they are also a longlasting symbol of your love and commitment. Therefore, do not consider much i think you should go for a pair.

Default I would prefer

an engagement ring, I think it's much more respectful and appropriate.

You can find a great range of engagement rings here:http://www.diamonds-usa.com/
